The dilemma: I usually am not a huge fan of post editing (unless it’s needed badly, is a very small adjustment, or is requested from a client), but I’m pretty sure I was thinking in Black and White when I took this photo (as previously mentioned, I don’t shoot a terribly lot of color, but I’m working on it). As a result, I am sharing both the original color and the greyscale with a tiny contrast boost.

Among the millions of blogs on Tumblr, only a small number are contributors of original content: “the world’s creators”
And if you’ve ever looked at Tumblr’s Explore Page you might notice that Photography is oddly absent.
There’s #design, #art, #architecture and even #artists on tumblr — but no mention of anything related to the art of taking pictures with a camera. Even #film is a trap — it’s for movies, not analog photography!
We don’t think this situation is acceptable. So let’s Fight it.
We’d like to ask all original photographers on Tumblr to start putting the #photographers on tumblr tag on every single photo you post.
Photographers deserve more recognition among the Creators on Tumblr. Hopefully, by using this tag we’ll help the entire community of Tumblr photographers get noticed — and maybe one day we will see that tag on the Tumblr Explore page too.

Is International Film Buying Day! What does it mean to you? Well, it means supporting analog photography! Showing the manufacturers that there IS still a large part of the photography community that still loves film and that its worth production of their film products!

So, I too wanted to try my luck at shooting the solar eclipse, this was the general result. I grabbed a polarizing filter and a solarizing filter and took them outside with me and my camera. I used, mostly, them together… and on occasion one or the other just to see what happened. They are probably a far cry from the best eclipse photos out there, but I thought the effect the 2 filters had was kinda neat. I don’t remember which filters I used for each photo, though.

Alright fellow photographers… I need some help here.
I have an amazing A-1… er, well it was amazing until it stopped firing about a year ago. I really want to use it again and I don’t have a million dollars to get it checked and repaired, so…
At first I figured it was the battery, so I bought a new one, replaced it, and still no luck. So, I put the new battery back away for use later… Anyways… Then I noticed upon examination, that the battery door was cracked, which is apparently a common thing with this camera. I figured that the camera is old enough to where this shouldn’t really affect it, right? Or would it?
Then I read that the cloth shutter often gets stuck, too. Maybe that’s my problem? I can hear the camera wind, though I don’t see anything move, but then the shutter release doesn’t do anything… If I click back the multiple exposure lever it resets and lets me cock it again, but still nothing happens with the shutter… Help?!
I really just want my camera back. Any help that wont cost me and may fix it would be much appreciated. If it sounds more like a gear issue, then I will just have to wait, but if not I would love to be able to resolve it!
